What are the approved pills?

The Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide), approved in late 2025 and launched January 2026, and Foundayo (orforglipron), approved 1 April 2026. Both start around $149 a month self-pay.

Is oral semaglutide difficult to take correctly?

It has strict instructions — an empty stomach, a small sip of water, and a wait before eating or taking anything else. Get that wrong and absorption suffers. Orforglipron does not carry the same restriction.

Before you choose on price

Worth knowing before you start: the approved oral options avoid injections entirely and start around $149, and if you are on Medicare the $50 programme begins in July 2026.
