If your vial comes from Strive Pharmacy, the thing that matters most to you day to day is not the company name on the box — it is the concentration printed on the label.

It appears here because PlexusDx names it publicly as a compounding partner. That is rarer than it should be — most GLP-1 providers will not tell you which pharmacy prepares your medication, which makes the ones that do worth paying attention to.

What the pharmacy decides about your injection

Compounded preparations are not standardised. The pharmacy sets the concentration, which is what turns your prescribed dose in milligrams into the volume you actually draw. Change pharmacy and that number can change, which means the same prescription becomes a different marking on the syringe. It also sets the beyond-use date, which is usually far shorter than a manufacturer expiry. Both of those land on you at the kitchen table, not in a boardroom.

Our read

The PCAB accreditation is the thing worth knowing here. It is voluntary, it costs money, and it involves somebody physically inspecting the facility — which is more than state licensure alone requires. It is not a guarantee of anything, but a pharmacy that has sought it has chosen to be looked at more closely than the law demands.

Which providers name it

Being named by a provider does not mean that provider uses it exclusively, or that it will fill your particular prescription. Multi-pharmacy networks route by state and by product, so confirm which pharmacy serves you specifically.

FDA enforcement record

FDA publishes inspections, recalls and other actions for compounders. The entry below is quoted from that list as FDA states it. Read the glossary before drawing conclusions — most of these documents are not what people assume.

Listed as: Strive Pharmacy Texas, LLC, dba Strive Pharmacy (formerly Talon Pharmacy of Boerne), Boerne, TX — 503A Facility

  • 483 Issued 09/08/2023

Our note. A single inspection observation and no warning letter — among the lightest published records of any pharmacy on this site.

Worth knowing. How to read this fairly. A Form 483 records inspection observations, not proven violations, and a busy facility that FDA visits often will collect more of them than one nobody inspects. Absence from the list is not a clean bill of health — it can simply mean no inspection or no published action. And the legal entity matters: similarly-named companies are frequently different facilities with different records.

What each document type actually means is explained once on the pharmacies index. Source: FDA, checked 2026-09-18.

The step-by-step way to check a pharmacy licence yourself — state boards, PCAB, NABP and what to ask for — is set out once on the pharmacies index rather than repeated on every page.

Common questions

Can I buy from Strive Pharmacy directly?

No. A compounding pharmacy dispenses against a prescription from a licensed clinician — it is not a shop. Anyone offering to sell you a compounded GLP-1 without a prescription is not operating legally, whatever pharmacy name is attached.

Does a named pharmacy mean the medication is FDA-approved?

No, and this is the distinction that matters most. A compounded preparation is not FDA-approved regardless of how well-regarded the pharmacy is. The pharmacy is licensed and may be accredited; the preparation itself has not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing quality.

What is 503A, briefly?

A 503A pharmacy compounds for an individual patient against a specific prescription and is regulated primarily by state boards of pharmacy. A 503B outsourcing facility can produce larger batches, registers with the FDA and is subject to FDA inspection. Full explanation in is compounded GLP-1 still legal.

So when a refill arrives, check the concentration against your last vial before you draw anything. If your provider has quietly switched pharmacy, that is where you will find out.
